A recent academic paper in a U.S. scientific journal shows that raccoon dogs(TANUKI)at a wholesale market in Wuhan, China, are likely to be the source of the COVID-19 virus. This supports the idea that the virus came from animals before spreading to humans.

There are several possibilities about the origins of the COVID-19 virus, but it is still not fully understood. Japan, the U.S., and the U.K. have asked the World Health Organization (WHO) to investigate the origins of the virus.

However, China, named as the possible origin of the outbreak, has strongly denied these claims, calling them “slanderous accusations.”

Regarding the COVID-19 virus, which spread globally, it is essential for all countries to cooperate in investigating its origins. Such efforts are crucial for preventing and preparing for future pandemics.

China is no exception. And this is not a matter of “slanderous accusations.”
