Being fluent in English may be a dream for many English learners.
However, the reality is challenging.
I am not a returnee, nor had I continuously studied English since my student days.
When I joined the workforce, the TOEIC score I initially obtained was below the average.
It’s unlikely that someone like me, who lacks professional proficiency in English, can compete with those who are native speakers. In other words, I don’t stand a chance in terms of overall English proficiency.
So, what I’ve thought is improving English within my areas of expertise, and I believed that studying focused areas was the best way.
Of course, I’ve been aiming to improve my overall English proficiency as well.
